Asha Kiran Ashram
Asha Kiran Ashram is a school for young people with physical and mental disabilities located in a rural village called A.P Nadanoor, close to the town Tirunelveli in the Southern Indian district of Tamil Nadu.The school was opened in 2009 and is part of the Non Governmental organization �Celestial Ministries Charitable & Educational Trust�, which is registered as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust. The school has Government approval and is registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. It is the first facility of its kind in the area. Before the school opened, many of the children with disabilities had never been to school. This is mainly because mainstream school was unable to accommodate the needs of disabled children. The children came from mainly poorer families who work very hard to earn a living and receive no help or support from the authorities.
