Century Special Education Needs School
A survey carried out in 1997 in the suburbs of Port-Louis revealed that there were many children with disabilities. Many came from poor families and could not attend a special school. Thus, the Century Welfare Association officially opened its Special Educational Needs School (SENS) on the 2nd March 1998 by the then President of the Republic, Mr Cassam Uteem. To date, the school has approximately 60 children and is registered as a SENS by the Ministry of Education.
