DAGBREEK SCHOOL FOR THE INTELLECTUALLY IMPAIRED
Dagbreek is a school for learners who are intellectually impaired. The school started in 1970 c/o Peter Muller and Luderitz Street. Since 1976 the school has been situated in the Klein Windhoek area c/o John Ludwig and Hebenstreitstrasse.<br /> <br /> The school meets the needs of children with Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy as well as those with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) including Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Aspergers Syndrome, Retts Sydrome, Childhood Disintegrative Disorders (CDD) and PDD-NOS. The age range of the learners is between 7 and 18 years. There are three phases according to the age of the learners - Beginners, Juniors and Seniors. Each of the three phases has four classes with approximately 10 learners in each class placed according to their overall level of functioning where 1 is the highest level of functioning and 4 the lowest.
