Hervey Bay Special School
Welcome to Hervey Bay Special School. This school opened in 1986 with nineteen students and has grown to one hundred students. To enrol in our school, a student must have an intellectual disability. Several of our students have additional disabilities such as autism and/or sensory disabilities such as physical or visual disabilities.The school is staffed with highly skilled, professional teachers and teacher aides. The school focuses on collaborative planning and delivery of the Australian Curriculum through highly individualised plans such as Individual Support Plans, Senior Education Transition plans and PATH plans (Promoting Alternatives for Tomorrow with Hope).Occupational, physio and speech therapy services enhance our school motto “Meeting Individual Needs”
