Mann - Center for Individuals with Special Needs
Mann is a registered charitable organization [Reg. No. E – 27458 (M)] in Santacruz Mumbai, dedicated to training adolescents and adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. We provide this through person specific programs to prepare the students for a more meaningful and independent life. At Mann, 80% of the students are from the low socio economic background and are provided services free of cost. Mann started in the year 2010 with 25 students and 5 staff members and has grown to 120 students and 25 staff members. Our aim is to foster independence and employability among adults with special needs through skill training programs like<br /> Supported Employment Program<br /> This program exposes students to a range of concepts, vocabulary, and jobs, related to different vocations. The jobs can be executed from within the centres or from home like Orders from local businesses, Assembly line jobs, corporate gifts and wedding orders.<br /> Mainstream Employment Program<br /> The Mainstream Employment Programme provides training, and support to people with special needs, to gain sustainable employment. This program is designed to integrate communication skills along with hands-on job specific skill training in areas like Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service, Clerical and Labelling and Packaging. Available positions are matched to the skills of the individual, and the needs of the employer.
