Northern Plains Special Education Unit
Northern Plains Special Education Unit is small unit located in the northwest part of North Dakota that consists of 5 school districts. Our office is located in the Stanley High School. The superintendents of each district represent the NPSEU board. Each school district is responsible for hiring district level special education staff, except if the board deems it necessary to have the contracts held by the Unit. Our special education unit is in an agreement with the Peace Garden Consortium. The following services are shared services with the Peace Garden Consortium: School Psychologists, Behavior Consultation, Physicial Therapy and Occupational Therapy (to cover part of the Unit). NPSEU also contracts part of the Occupational Therapy services.
