Oksana is an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) certified, New York State-licensed, PROMPT-trained, bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist. She holds a New York State Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities certification (TSSL-D). Oksana graduated from St. John's University with a Magna Cum Laude degree in Speech Language Pathology and Communication.<br /> While providing intervention, Oksana implements and combines innovative and time-proven treatment techniques and learning approaches such as: PROMPT, principles of ABA therapy, Sensory Integration, TEACCH menthod, PECS, and others. Besides extensive expertise in communication and cognitive disorders, Oksana is trained and experienced in treating various feeding/swallowing disorders. In addition, Oksana closely works with families/caregivers and considers them an integral part of intervention; to ensure carryover and generalization of skills. Furthermore, she has extensive experience working with families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Oksana is very passionate about helping children with developmental disorders and their families reach their full potential of living full and happy lives, despite their limitations and special needs.
