Pajarito Elementary School
Pajarito Elementary School
Dual Language is a form of bilingual education in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages. Pajarito’s dual language program uses Spanish for at least half of the instructional day. Kindergarten, first and second grade use Spanish as their primary language of instruction. Third, fourth and fifth-grade instruction is taught in Spanish for half of the school day. Our program starts in kindergarten and extends to fifth grade. Many of our students continue into middle school and high school. Dual language programs foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages.
