Ms. Sharon J. Clarke is Speech and Language Pathologist at the hearLIFE Clinic Nassau. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the Elmira College, Elmira, New York.<br /> Ms. Clarke has over 30 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, especially in providing speech/oral-motor, language, cognitive and fluency evaluations and treatment services to both the mainstream and special needs population between the ages of 5 and 23 years. She served as a part-time lecturer for the College of the Bahamas as well as a course instructor for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) training students and parents in the field of speech and language development and disorders.<br /> For more than 20 years Ms. Clarke has served as a consultant speech therapist for the Audiology and Speech Clinic at the Listening Ear Company offering speech and language services to children and adults with all types of communication disorders and has provided in-patient services at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas. Ms. Clarke also serves as the chief speech-language pathologist in the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology.<br /> In addition to her professional activities, Ms. Clarke is a member of many scientific and professional associations, including the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as Speech Hearing and Language Associations in the Bahamas, Florida and North Carolina.
