Snehasadan
Sneha Sadan is a special school for the mentally retarded, the most unfortunate and neglected ones of our area. There are a number of mentally retarded children belonging to the poor families in our neighboring places Iike Mookkannoor, Karayamparambu, Tabore, Aduvassery, Kunnukara, Kariyad, Vappalasserry, Angamaly, Pothiyakkara etc. After studying the educational needs of these localities through a field survey, we learnt that, the most important need is the education and development of the mentally retarded. We pick up the children in our buses to the school in the morning and to their houses in the evening. If these children are not taken care off by anybody, they will be a burden to their family, to the community and the country. Our aim is to normalize them and to make them self sufficient by establishing vocational training in various aspects. ODbe project is justifiable in its Output utility, to the welfare of the disabled and cost effectiveness in its physical achievements. Sneha Sadan is a registered Charitable society under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act of 1955 at District Registrar's Office at Ernakulam as No.ER 455 / 94 dated 20.07.94. The center is Managed by the sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel Mary Matha Province, Angamaly.
