Vidya Vikasini School
Vidya Vikasini School is a Special School for Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Mental Retardation, ADHD, Learning Disability…. Vidya Vikasini Opportunity School was started in 1981(International Year of the Handicapped) with two children, by our Founder Director (Late)Mrs.S.S.Jayalakshmi with a view to integrate these children into main stream of education, empower them and create confidence amongst the parents and the Society at large. Today, this school has strength of 110 with multiple disabilities like autism, mental retardation, dyslexia etc. apart from physical disabilities and the school has been rendering yeomen service to these children / parents. Several children have passed out of the school taking National Open School examination and are earning their livelihood having been empowered to live in this Society in various parts of Tamil Nadu. In 2018 examination, eleven of our differently abled (mentally challenged) children attended Tamil Nadu State Board examination in the normal stream with the other children (class x) and six of them came out in flying colours.
