It is under the management of the Superior General of the congregation Of the Franciscan sisters of The Immaculate Heart of Mary, Quilon.<br /> The institution was blessed and Inaugurated on the 1st of the May 1995 by his Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph. G. Fernandez, the then Bishop of Quilon. Vimala Hridaya special school is a day care school with junior senior wings.<br /> The institution which was started with 10 students and 2 sisters is now having the strength of 100. One of our charismas is to have preferential love for the poor and needy. Taking it into Consideration our Superior General along with her councilors has decided to start a special school for the Mentally handicapped children.
