The Guatemalan Association for Autism is a private non-profit initiative that seeks to give a comprehensive response to a neurological disorder that is estimated to affect more than 160,000 people in the country, and which is currently virtually unknown by Guatemalan society and for so invisible.This Association was born in 2012 in the heart of a group of parents and professionals who have been touched by the lives of children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum and who are able to captivate with the greatness of their being and to manifest their strengths. that accompany them.Since its formation, the Association sought to provide a palpable service to children diagnosed within the autistic spectrum and their families, making this objective the fundamental engine that gave rise to the Potential Therapeutic Educational Program, a program generated by the Association that integrates various intervention modalities , structured to meet the individual needs of each child or adolescent and their family. Potential starts on February 6, 2012 is a small space provided by one of the founding partners, with two children and three volunteer professionals. For the month of May there were already four children and in December the year closed with six children and four professionals already hired, already with a rented and conditioned physical space to provide decent attention.
